Five-Star Care

Old Cheney has long been known for providing high-quality, compassionate care to its patients. It is in large part why we are consistently four-star rated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and have many positive patient reviews on Google.

While our care and services have remained unchanged, our star rating recently declined due to an administrative error. During the most recent rating period, CMS did not capture our staffing data. This is one of the three categories that determines a rehabilitation center’s overall score, so it had a huge impact on our rating.

Promontory Point is proud to have a high patient to care team ratio. The numbers we attempted to submit to CMS during the last rating period show our patients receive almost five hours of one-on-one care from our nurses every day. This level of attention is above average across our industry and would have earned us five-stars in this category.

We want our current and future patients to know, we are working with CMS to fix this reporting error. CMS reevaluates all rehabilitation centers on a quarterly basis. The next report will be released in early January and we believe it will once again show us as a four or five-star facility.

If anyone has questions about our current three-star rating, we encourage you to give our administrator, Christian Koenig, a call at 531-739-3200. We feel confident in the care we provide and we want to make sure our current and future patients have accurate information so they can feel the same.
